PRIMARY FUNCTION: Food and Beverage
INSPIRATION: Bring big shocks by using the most primitive elements to create future. We fully utilized raw materials to generate a modern and future atmosphere, i.e. seeing a space ship in primitive jungle.
In dining area, eye-catching auras (spaceship is taking off) are displayed above pieces of wood in different shades of orange and red (volcanoes) on the wall. Volcanic eruptions are happening: magma (dimensional Korean words) comes out from mountains (sand piles), all these form a shocking scene.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Making good use of extremely high and low building ceilings, in order to create more space advantages.
Sharing the modish Korean-style grill food culture with diners through diverse food options in relaxing atmosphere.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As the door is huge, we narrowed the entrance position like the funnel to concentrating the flow of people and they will see the dining area of of different sizes which forms a visually strong contrast. The service area is placed in the center of the dining area and outside kitchen with four wide corridors to facilitate smooth operation and expand space.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2018 in Hong Kong and finished in December 2018 in Hong Kong.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: One of the characteristics of Korean Grill is that each range hood is being installed above the roaster. As most of ceilings are high, we deliberately placed radioactive woods of different sizes to hide range hoods, in order to reduce the amount of visible range hoods.
In addition, adjustable double-headed lamps are installed on each range hood to ensure adequate lighting for food doneness checking. Adequate lighting could make food look more attractive.
Layout plan considerations for mechanical and electrical equipment i.e. exhaust fan, air conditioners and gas pipes.
