DESIGN NAME:
CD Album Design
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Music CD Packaging
INSPIRATION:
Design creation Inspired from blues, jazz music of the Latvian Blues Band.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The CD cover design was made for Latvian Blues Band anniversary
album. All created conforming with musicians requirements. The concept has grown from a song title -
Music Of My heart. The CD cover design created in vintage style and vintage typography.
Album design uses a sensitive approach to the topic of music and life correlation.
The graphic lines, notes and shapes creating a musical mood on the cover.
This is subjective music visualisation.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The transparent tray, creating a continuous motif even when the cd is out of the tray.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project was started in december 2015 in Riga, Latvia. And finished with presentation concert in music club MoonshineRiga in Mart 2016.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Classical cd transparent tray inside printed cover. Cover close from two parts in center. Cover printed CMYK colors, paper with mated laminating. Cd top design silk printed deep black color.

Before creating an album design, i was listening all new songs from album.
For best experience and understanding music and words In all songs.
CHALLENGE:
Most difficult in creating a real design forms from unreal vibrations - songs and music.

NAME:
Latvian Blues Band
PROFILE:
The Latvian Blues Band is great, awarded blues music band from Latvia. The Latvian Blues Band has appeared in Lithuania, Estonia Poland, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Greece, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Russia,Belarus, the United States, Canada and Egypt.
It has taken part in major European blues festivals such as Euro Jazz 2004 in Athens, Sierre Blues 2011 in Switzerland, Narcao Blues 2014 in Sardinia, and countless other ones. In 2004, the legendary guitarist and blues expert Bob Margolin published an article about the LBB as a European blues phenomenon in the world’s leading blues magazine, Blues Revue. In 2005, the LBB received the Thropees France Blues nomination as the best blues band in Europe.
A particular honour was the invitation to appear at the Chicago Blues Festival, where the LBB was the first European - based band in the festival’s history. During the Chicago Blues Festival in 2008, the LBB toured a number of blues clubs in Chicago.
2009, the LBB won the Baltic Blues Challenge in the German town of Eutin, thus winning a spot at the International Blues Challenge 2010 finals in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2013, the Latvian Blues Band released Latvian Blues Band & Friends Live at the Dream Factory 2013.
In January 2015, the LBB once again took part in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, gaining much attention and recognition from organisers, representatives of major US blues associations, as well as audiences.
