| DESIGN NAME: Gemdale The One PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: LSDCASA undertakes the overall interior design of this project. We try to return to the most essential thinking of design, and respond to the original will of living with ordinary life and quiet and simple impression. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: ords, here our style is not a model, but a methodology. The life we face every day will teach us what a more appropriate design is. We do not hesitate to make subversive changes to the interior space of the building to create smoother generatrices and more reasonable allocation of space resources. Besides, we pursue the genuineness of materials and the release of functions. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The building is a 6-storeyy villa with three ones aboveground and underground respectively. The Gemdale team pioneers the use of the original plot level difference and raised the garden as a whole, which, on one hand, creates a necessary sense of privacy, and, on the other hand, forms the "double first store" setting unique to the project and also forms the precious double-storey two-way landscape resource on the first store and the negative first store of the building. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2017, completed in December 2017, started construction in Guangzhou in December 2017 and completed in April 2018. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A space, not a place to display construction, aims to suppress temptation and reduce distraction. In addition to removing the process and unnecessary details, we also strive to be true and restrained in terms of color and material selection. We try to use natural materials and strive to present genuine materials without deduction. In terms of overall color, black and white occupy most of the space, and a small amount of different color is also blended with grayscale. The life we face every day will teach us what a more appropriate design is. Therefore, we do not hesitate to make subversive changes to the interior space of the building to create smoother generatrices and more reasonable allocation of space resources. Besides, we pursue the genuineness of materials and the release of functions, and, on top of this, create some little surprises in everyday life through changes. CHALLENGE: Based on space planning, we comb the generatrixes in the space. The 6-storey vertical step ladder in the original building planning is not conducive to the generatrices and increases discomfort of use. We use a three-storey vertical step ladder and a three-storey spiral staircase to form the conversion of generatrices between the living area and the social activity area. The semi-outdoor space on the first floor and the negative first floor is joined by a structural art step ladder to complete the alternation from "inward collecting" to "outward release".
