| DESIGN NAME: Grip PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side Table INSPIRATION: Understanding the weakness of marble in strength, as well as its availability in the context, is the main challenge of this design. How to design the product with details to fight the weaknesses of marble and make it a real product is the main challenge of this design; if a person standing or sitting, the table looks like a marble held only by a tripod. The human interest of being in a low-level light atmosphere has led to the choice of a unique kind of marble which can pass the light. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: To use the beauty of marble, it must be countered with its fragility. Our solution is to use the highest possible contact with the stone. the wooden hemisphere a hub for distribution of forces. The bolt connections cut off all three parts of the design to provide better carrying and restoration capacity. the marble can pass the light and create a soft lightening surface. The volume of the semicircle also provides the light source and the power supply, without sacrificing the original design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Grip, by using two materials, wood and marble stone , induces a unique & warm feeling.touch-sensit PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2017 in Mashhad and finished in December 2017 in Mashhad, and was exhibited in Choobsang showroom in January 2018 . PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Grip surface, is made by using marble,Persian, rhino stone.Globe and legs are made with beech wood in order to resist the pressure. turner is used in the structure of the legs and it is also used In the globe to get the hemisphere shape . but the pits of hemisphere shape, which the bolts are placed in, as a result of the angle it makes is made by using a 5-axis CNC. Also, for the type of grip that can be illuminated by touch technology, only marble is used.The separation of all three parts of the product (marble-globe-legs) makes it easier to pack while occupying less space and also for easier shipment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Grip is designed in two types.coffee table:diameter 550 mm .Height 410 mm one set, and other set is 450 mm. the side table has a circle surface with small diameter 500 mm, large diameter 500 mm and foots with height 450 mm . the other side table with a large diameter 440 mm and a small diameter 430 mm height 410 .To avoid possible damage to product as a result of movement, the marble plate and the legs are separated and they are packed in a wooden box of 8 mm thickness TAGS: Personal touch lighting, Minimal, Grip,wood, Marble, Side table,Furniture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main challenge of the product was the stability of the marbled on the tripod table.the first stages of experiment was based on choosing the type of detail and how to join(wood and stone). this detail had to provide a suitable surface for stability of the marble in a way that it would not break under pressure.therefore different extent of thickness of the stone was put to test. then the ultimate diameter length that a stone could resist without leaning was examined.experiments on this product has been conducted on software basis and also figuratively on a scale of 1:1 . CHALLENGE: The best stabilization of the marble on the wooden tripod was given a consideration which was simplified by the type of leg joints and also by joining the turned wooden tripod to globe by using bolt. in order to present the marbled surface of Grip,as a table and a source of dim light in a more perfect way,a source of light with a touch- sensitive sensor has been embedded inside the so that by merely touching the marble surface, the could be illuminated. using SMD lights is because of its simplicity of replacement and also its radiance.
