| DESIGN NAME: Belugadesign PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: Located in twenty years old ocean world building, we need to create strong position to dialogue with the special environment.We set up an orange metal sculpture, which surrounding by blue facade of ocean park, becomes the iconic gate dialogue with the site. While the sunshine throughout the louvers, height of space is most valuable experience that we want to preserve. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The new space for Belugadesign, an ocean theme park design firm, needs to meet the requirement of 62 people working together. While taking advantage of vertical space and structure of the original building, we use metal nets as pattern to echo the aquarium to make a strong installation. The reception, reading room, meeting room, all these rooms belong to the orange circulation. Even the lights and furniture design, presentation wall, they made by the key orange structure. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The strong orange installation defines the character of space, and the orange boundary connects the circulation of office. At the same time, color of office is the key feature to balance with the aquarium blue. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Metal, Terrazzo, OrientedStrandBoard SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 13m x Depth 28 m x Height 5.5 m The overall area is 330 square meters TAGS: orange, installation, position, sunshine, relationship RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Considering the context of site, we attempt to turn the installation to special container, and interpret relationship of inside and outside of building. CHALLENGE: The low budget of project is challenge for us. The only approach is using affordable material to define the overall space.
