| DESIGN NAME: The F - Side Table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Side Table INSPIRATION: Buzao have started product designs on lava stone in 2016, using mature modern techniques of stone processing. But over time the designer felt that beyond the state of being polished and waxed, lava stone in the natural state prompt a imagination of the dynamics of lava flow and solidification though the outer shape of the stone. Thus, the design of Ought To Retain The Original State and Valid Only If Retain The Original State started. And finally, a side table that with a stone fixed under an F clip. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A paradoxically side table suitable for sofa or chair. Modern design is about industrialization which means standard or consistent. And yet, F of standard machined form, borrowed from the industrial stool, F clip, has to be weighed with a primitive lava stone from nature, to keep itself firm. It shows the different states of lava stone on one design, combining artificial aesthetics with natural beauty. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We choose the crushed stone produced during the volcanic stone mining process and use this low-value kind of lava stone as the base of the side table. The users need to clip the natural volcanic stone themselves to make the side table firm. It is necessary to keep the upright end of the side table with the weight of the natural volcanic stone and angle of placing it. The random volcanic stone is fixed by the brass part of the F-clip, which can be adjusted up and down as needed. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Lava stone is a product of volcanic movement on Earth. The lava stone of desktop is processed with mature stone processing techniques and the lava stone of base is in natural shape. In order to keep a stable supply of natural lava stone and realize the max production, we choose to use the side material of blasting during mining of lava stone. Only to choose the right size and no need to proceed complex processes to complete a exquisite product. NAME: BUZAO PROFILE: Buzao is an experimental brand found in 2017. It tempts to breakthrough the difference between product and artwork by immersing the uncertainty of arts into the production. It does not define anything but only recognize that all materials existed in the beginning and therefore nothing was created afterward. By extracting or decomposing properties from the substance, Buzao accesses to the Ego of the material and make relationships between it and the human. The relationship could be a lamp, a furniture or simply a meaningless decoration. Rather than making products, Buzao is more likely triggering some poetical reactions. Materials utilized by Buzao ranges from volcanic rock, marble, to industrial glass and steel. there will be followed by casted aluminium, etc. From Buzao's point of view there is no difference between natural resource and manmade material. They all exist eventually. What matters the most is the uncertainty and the abnormality within the substance which will bring out its artistic aura. Buzao rebels from the experience we had from the past. It literally means "not create". It is the true-self, the reality and the common ground of all individuals who are free from the limitation of their time. |
