| DESIGN NAME: Warm White PRIMARY FUNCTION: A Private Residence INSPIRATION: The clients owned a tropical painting which was made as the focus of this beautiful tropical home with minimal design sensibilities. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The apartment has a predominant white base colour palette with splashes of colour as and when required. The living room has crisp open layout with flippable mirror fins which create an interesting visual at the same time providing the dining area its much needed privacy. The dining area is complimented with a backing counter right behind which integrates the oven within the storage unit. The seating area is complimented with a french door and georgian bars with a hint of the balcony space. The botanical painting compliments the choice of upholstery on the accent cushions and dining chairs. The Chinar leaves inlayed in the floor OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A simple apartment where husband and wife had a completely different thought processes. The wife wanted everything white and the husband preferred wooden look. We married both and created this beautiful apartment. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The balcony seamlessly merges the white flooring in the living to the cement flooring thru a hexagonal grid. The ceiling in the balcony is made in faux wood with concealed starry lights to create a starry sky effect during nights. The plants and the bougainville add life to the barbecue counter which can be tucked to the wall when not in use. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Copper Leaf inlay into white marble. Patterned inlay in bathroom walls. The apartment measures around 180 Sq. Mt TAGS: warm white, minimal, tropical, contemporaty, zero9, prashant chauhan, anu chauhan, mumbai, houzz, india, indian homes RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We reaserched about the husband's orgin from kashmir and inlayed copper leaves in white floor which resembled chinaar leaves on white snow. The hily regions of kashmir were incorporated in the guest bedroom as the bed back creating the mood for a relaxed setup. CHALLENGE: The difficult part was to manage the requirements and wishlists from both husband and wife and eventually it was seemlessly married.
