| DESIGN NAME: Greenwich PRIMARY FUNCTION: Conference Table INSPIRATION: The design was inspired by Burj Khalifa building, the tallest structure and building in the world. Critical reception to Burj Khalifa has been generally positive, and the building has received many awards. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This conference table is designed to demonstrate the multiculturalism and globalization. We designed the Greenwich table to be both stable and elegant. The size of thе table top is 360 x 100 cm, so 14 persons can be seated. It is also available in a gold colour. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: According to the recent study, the average person in Europe moves eight times in their lifetime. We tried to make moving easier by making every item disassemble into its core pieces. This construction is unusual for steel construction and saves space and money when relocating or storing the furniture. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The table was started in the fall of 2018 and completed in January 2019 in Minsk, Belarus. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The legs are made of steel, the table top is made of plywood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 3600 x 1000 x 7500 TAGS: conference table, large table RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We studied Burj Khalifa drawings before starting design. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design was creating steel legs that consist of several thin elements. After a decade of success in the tech world, co-founding and leading an international software development company, he transitioned to designing craft furniture at age 42. An avid lover of nature, Andrei lives in the countryside, and the surrounding landscapes serve as inspiration for Black Owl. |
