| DESIGN NAME: Inyna Chic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Intermittent Urinary Catheter INSPIRATION: The Infyna Chic provides a high level of discretion for women who use intermittent catheters. It is beautiful and easy to use, with a unique combination of color, design, and discretion to help blend in with her life. The Infyna Chic catheter can help a woman feel better about having to use one, and its design is truly inspired by women. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Infyna Chic is a compact and ready-to-use urinary intermittent catheter designed for women. Its compact form allows it to be carried discreetly. The simple one-step opening procedure makes the catheter easily removable from the case. Thanks to its hydrophilic coating, the catheter is ready to use. The grips on the funnel allow an assured hold on the device. Unlike conventional intermittent catheters, the catheter can be cleanly re-captured in its case after use without any leaks. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Infyna Chic can be easily opened by its flip cap. The catheter is then removed from the case, and is ready to use thanks to its hydrophilic lubricious coating. It is then inserted into the urethra to drain the bladder. The length of the catheter helps bring confidence that the bladder has been fully drained. It can be cleanly and hygienically recaptured into the case for disposal. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed by a cross-functional team based in Chicago (USA) and Ballina (Ireland) with support from Hollister Global Manufacturing sites. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Injection molded plastic component SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 145 x 20 x 20 TAGS: medical, catheter, urinary, discreet RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The catheter and its primary packaging were designed in conjunction with end users and clinicians to better understand the needs of our end users. CHALLENGE: The creative challenge for this product was to balance product robustness with ease of operation and discretion. Knowing that our product can satisfy these requirements makes the Infyna Chic a unique offering in the market.
