PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart Charging System
INSPIRATION: The project stems from the need to create public charging stations, where free all people, of 10 small communities, can use S r e for their e-bikes and e-cars, but also for their smartphone. The object created is completed with an app to allow maximum usability of the service, in addition to remote maintenance.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The industrial design project, S r e - charging system for e-bikes and e-cars, aims to increase the use of electric mobility and tourism, in the hills of the 10 municipalities in the province of Treviso, "between prosecco wine and the first world war ".
S r e, was realized by "Unione Montana delle Prealpi Trevigiane", with a contribution from european union, through Gal Altamarca trevigiana - Veneto region - PSL 2014 - 2020.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project is based on maximum simplicity of use, which is explained through specific instructions set in several parts of the S r e, as well as viewable in the app. The project can be easily transformed by providing the transition to bike sharing or customization for the electric charging of e-cars.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2017 in province of Treviso, in 10 small town, and finished in 2019. The next step planned for 2020 is the construction of another 12 SREs, now in the executive planning.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The product is mainly made of two materials: fiberglass for the vertical column and steel sheet for the horizontal bar and for the support. Both materials have been tested for use in public places, to withstand bad weather and vandalism. Particular attention has been paid to the design of the electromagnetic lock to guarantee the safety of bicycles. This lock, via app, allows the battery charging compartment to be unlocked.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The product is customized by the manufacturer: Ecospazio - Smart mobility division - Logiss srl. The compositions of the S r e can be varied: single-sided for 2 to 10 bicycles or two-sided up to 40 bicycles. The same S r e column can be customized with 1 or 2 sockets for charging e-cars. The manufacturer is responsible for transporting and assembling the product, both in Italy and abroad, providing the maintenance plan remotely.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research conducted during the design of the S r e has been developed on three topics: first is the formal research on the use of materials, fiberglass and metal; second is research on the electronics and electromechanics of the bike-block; third is research on the app and on the Logiss management platform, for the user and for maintenance. The bike block is patented and unique, because it is compatible with all type of e-bikes. The column is made of fiberglass because it allows thermal and electrical insulation, better waterproofing, resistance to corrosion.
CHALLENGE: During the reasearch the mechanics of the bike lock have been refined to guarantee the safety of bicycles, because it was necessary to solve the problem of vandalism, as well as to avoid thefts.
