DESIGN NAME:
Stand for Peace

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Fine Jewelry

INSPIRATION:
Every kind of material has its inherent mission, especially the growth of natural pearls has greatly touched me. The nurturing of pearls is just like an adventure of love. Love is the eternal theme of human beings, and world peace is human greatest yearning for love. Designer try to express the charm of this material in a pure way. Her works can be viewed from different angles and interpreted in lot of ways.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Mathematical logic is the most direct but also the most secret beauty of nature. The series of fine jewelry "Stand for peace" is to explore the original formation of a round pearl, which is the trajectory of a two-dimensional circular revolving in the space. The idea is to take olive branch as the symbol of peace, and on the other hand, the leaves on the branch resemble open shells as well. No matter leaves or shells, the jewelry pieces are trying to convey the joy of growing in life. And the pearls (Tahitian pearls and Akoya pearls) are exactly like the beautiful fruits or great achievements.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In artistic aesthetics, it was inspired by artist Olafur Eliasson's exhibitions of circular form in space. At the level of material research, I visited Tahiti to study cultivation of Tahitian pearls, and all kinds of knowledge and application technology of black pearls with the support of Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong in 2017.

CHALLENGE:
In the execution of this project, it is very difficult to find natural pearls with gradual change in size and similar color. At the same time, the common size of Tahitian black pearls is usually around 9mm. The size of the pearls effected the final size of the jewelry piece and the weight of gold also must be taken into account. In order not to affect the purity of the circular design, a special buckle is specially designed for the opening of the bracelet.

JANECHEN Jewels

PROFILE:
JANECHEN Jewels was founded by Chinese designer Junqian Chen in 2016. The brand tries to create jewelry with unique form and independent spirit by exploring the essence of materials and applying mathematical concepts. With the support of the Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong, Junqian Chen has conducted in-depth research on the cultivation and design of Tahitian black pearls. The series of fine jewelry "Stand for peace” is a very creative interpretation of the essence of pearls. Up to now her jewelry design has received wide acclaim from customers and recognition from the industry. Junqian CHEN has acquired a wealth of experience of fashion accessories design and luxury design at Domus Academy and Richemont Group in Italy during 2006-2012. She has worked for many great brands such as Dior Homme, Montblanc, etc. Now she is teaching in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai and leading the fashion accessories design international cooperation program. As for art and design, she is keen on giving full play to abstract design language, not only to convey the spirit of the times, but also to show multicultural power with east and west melodies. Her Chinese zodiac jewelry series “The Wind of Change” has been invited several times to participate in the "Happy Spring Festival. Chinese Style - Chinese Zodiac Jewelry Design Exhibition" held by the Ministry of Culture at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris. This series was also constructed by computer 3D software to create a nihilistic spiritual illusion, showing the dynamic form of life as fire, as wind, as water, flowing and ceaseless.
