| DESIGN NAME: PetMoblant PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Planter INSPIRATION: Pollution , as the main reason for needing clean lungs and clean air . What if you can have an object that returns to you with clean air/lungs , moves with you as a pet , and does not need cleaning . PetMoblant , will return to you with a cleaner air , and help seeding the path the faster you move . UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: PetMoblant is shaped by aerodynamics , and streamlined as a water drop . The aerodynamic shape is supplied with wheels and mobile . It hosts plants , so you can pet , and take them on a walk ; They will return to you with a cleaner air , and help seeding the path the faster you move . OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Mobile planter , used as a pet with a leash : Your clean air going with you . PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project was executed in January 2019 and exhibited in Beirut in February 2019 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Created by stacking birch plywood sheets ; Section has been cut out of the modeled 3d form . Sheets were aligned in order , clamps inserted . Sanded in order to smooth the forms , then a gluing transparent layer applied . An aluminum frame for the top cover has been CNC cut , then fitted manually by sanding . SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 56x43x24cm ; Wooden package : 62x48x30cm TAGS: Planter , Toy , mobile , wheels RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Using 3d max for forms . CNC cutting for the plywood layers . Shaped by aerodynamics , and streamlined as a water drop . A design based on an organic parametric shape , reflecting the natural geometry , imbuing the rigid nature of wood with the fluidity of the water drop. Raised in a family of craftmen , Painter mother , Coachbuilder/restorer father, and shoemaker grandfather, he had a leaning to automotive and industrial design since an early age. Working in multiple architectural services fields , banking , petroleum,industrial and residential , in Lebanon and the Middle East. |
