PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Tour Bus

INSPIRATION:
Task for designer was to develop a bus which stands out from the existing competitors using brave and innovative ideas. The bus has an exclusive design creating a motion effect. Its dimensions are emphasised by Hella lights, whereas the image they create is comprised by separate segments. The overall design reflects the clear contrast of colours where the main white colour is interrupted by black design fragments.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
ALTAS AUTO is a mini bus producer for Europe with the ambition to introduce its own bus brand. Because of the unexploited market niche in between mini and big buses, midi bus was chosen as a target for development. A young designer was chosen to bring fresh, unusual ideas for a bus design. Altas VIATOR shapes follow current automotive trends of sharp lines and aggressive looks.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This tourist bus features comfortable seats, spacious compartments and shelves for storage of items above the seats. The powerful heating and ventilation equipment allow to enjoy the journey at high outdoor temperatures and harsh weather conditions. Offers a comfortable journey at night time. The daylight effect is created by the pleasant light emitted from the ceiling, while the subtle LED panels mark the window area and pathway. For the comfort of passengers, there is personal light available above the seats with an individual comfort management function. The drivers will appreciate the rear-view camera, heated windshield and CAN bus software management of equipment.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in June 2017 and finished in September 2018 in Lithuania, and was exhibited in exhibition IAA Commercial Vehicles in September 2018.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The bus frame is made of special stainless steel with application of exterior and interior finishing elements made of the state-of-the-art, light composite materials with excellent thermal and sound insulation parameters. The bus elements and components are provided by the prominent suppliers in the automobile industry.

The brand is known for good modifications quality and efficient service.
