| DESIGN NAME: Shared P PRIMARY FUNCTION: Parking Space INSPIRATION: In nowadays urban life, we have to admit that the space in city center are limited and parking place are never enough so that we have to figure out a way in solving this circumstances. Kevin Kelly said that everything can be shared will be shared eventually. So what about sharing some personal parking space? That’s the beginning of Shared P. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Shared P, which makes personal parking space can earn some parking fee when it is unoccupied so that the other drivers can parking there is designed basic on the sharing economy background. After personal parking space owner set Shared P, they can set their Shared P into “In Service” state on their smart phone by our APP and the other drivers nearby can search those “In Service” parking space in the APP so that they can find it right away. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1.Find the those “In Service” parking space in the APP 2.Scan the QR code on Shared P 3.Parking your car after Shared P put down 4.After the car drive away, Shared P will stop billing 5.User should pay for their parking bill on the APP in time otherwise they cannot use it again 6.The APP will be bind up with personal credit record PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2018 in LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and finished in July 2018 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Our design is shaped by alloy molding technology. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 350mm x Depth 520mm x Height 500mm TAGS: Redesign, Sharing, Parking Space RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The designers find out that there are a lot of wasting about personal parking space because half time of it is out of service in today’s urban life. To find out a reasonable way in improving the urban space utilization, design team researching plenty of documents. Finally, team members decided to complete the idea combining with the sharing economy background. Basic on the technology today, applications in the smart phone connect the users and the personal parking space owners into one system so that it makes every communication easily. With the online payment function in our smart phone, the payment of parking bill is much more simple than it used to be. CHALLENGE: The challenge of our design is that we cannot find a reasonable way in it’s appearance which is satisfying in function at the beginning. After a certain number of sketching and discussing of our project, we finally find the proper selection which achieves the desired effect.
