| DESIGN NAME: Unicorn Scooter PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Scooter For Sharing INSPIRATION: The mission of the Unicorn Scooters is to make a radical change to the ridiculous amount of urban pollution, traffic jams and the old-school approach towards mobility in the cities. Unicorn Scooters are the perfect first/last-mile solution that will help the commuters to navigate around the city in a quick and sustainable way. Unicorn scooter is robust, durable, has just the right functionality and the outstanding design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: What Unicorn Scooters are aiming is to create the e-scooter with functional and smart design. The signature step distinguishes Unicorn from the others and also serves as a platform for the grocery bag, a cargo or even a kid. Therefore, with the Unicorn additional business propositions appear, especially for parcel or food delivery companies. Unicorn scooters might be used instead of the vans in the narrow streets. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: One of the biggest goals for Unicorn scooters is to help city commuters get around cities in the most comfortable way. Therefore, Unicorn scooters team have designed the magnetic charging/locking stop for the Unicorn scooters. It’s so easy to use and it’s thoughtfully designed to keep cities clean and free of scooter litter. Moreover, we integrated Unicorn App- Wherever you ride, you’re always in control. Find info about the batteries quickly. Optimize performance and customize your ride. Get rewards. The Unicorn App keeps you constantly synced with your scooter so you have the freedom and flexibility to get more out of every ride. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Unicorn scooter is equipped with the battery that has a range of 80 km and is swappable so that the maintenance for the service providers would be easier and more efficient. Also, we have designed the electromagnetic charging stops. We want to offer two options: free fleet mode when all the scooters can be left anywhere after the trip and the one with the charging docks for the scooters. The Unicorn App will allow the commuters to lock/unlock the scooter, to reserve a scooter, track their riding data, see the battery range and communicate with other commuters. They are manufactured according to a single, standard model, which has not yet been tailored to a perfection. These scooters not only look like one but also have such problems as short lifespan, loads of unnecessary functions, they are lacking safety functions, etc. We have recreated something that everyone already knows and designed an e-scooter exceptionally for sharing. Everything in the Unicorn has a purpose. CHALLENGE: The main creative challenge for Unicorn team is/was the manufacturing. In a process of manufacturing a sustainable micromobility vehicle it’s extremely important to manage to keep the whole process as sustainable as possible. Therefore, choosing partners and manufacturers was one of the biggest challenge for us. Even though the manufacturing in China was seven-times cheaper we have chosen strong partners in Europe.
