INSPIRATION:
The inspiration came from the work done by the designers themselves, and tattoo artist, to cover scars on women who survived breast cancer. Where the tattoo transforms and values the body of the woman. And create a vest that provides the visual sensation of a tattoed body for those who wear it, without the need of really having any tattoos.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Inked Vest was made to simulate a tattoed body. Produced in nude leather and tattoed by two professional artists, as if it was a skin. The drawings were created with the artistic genre of tattooing, and the vest embraces the shape of the body, giving the impression that it is actually the skin of whoever is wearing it.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
To produce a more accurate simulation of a tattoed body, lace the vest tighter.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The research was based on why tattooing is becoming more and more common and how tattooing can transform lives. We have come to realize that many people would love to have a big tattoo on their body, but are afraid of such a drastic change. We have decided to create a vest that would give them the opportunity to experiment the aesthetic feeling of what is like to have a large tattoo. The second part of the research was about a which style of drawing would enhance the body of whom is wearing it, without diverging from the integrity of tattooing. Finally, the third part of the research was about which materials to use, field of production, etc.

CHALLENGE:
The biggest challenge was to choose the right material to use. Especially the thickness of the leather, wich could not be too thin or it would not support the needles piercing through it without cutting it completely, neither too thick to adjust to body. The kind of leather and type of needle and ink we had to use, was also challenge to discover.
