RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The centre of light project constitutes an idea of creating a unique atmosphere surrounding the experience of a meal or eating. Light, as an ordering element which adds character and dimension, emphasizing the uniqueness of a meal, constitutes the creator of the space in which we reside. The space acquires and empirical, sensual meaning.

CHALLENGE:
Today a meal is treated in a pragmatic, laconic manner. We usually eat fast, in a hurry, not paying attention to the product, surrounding space, or accompanying people. Eating food has, to a certain degree, lost its spiritual character. The project constitutes an attempt to point the attention at the essence of our life, but also a signal for the user – to slow down and take a deep breath. The light of the lamp focuses on the product – food, creating an almost mystical aura around it (through its form, selected materials, color). The warm color of the light and materials – somewhere between red and yellow – falling into various tones of orange, stimulates, invigorates, inspires, and introduces a positive mood. It creates a pleasant atmosphere. It is also a color which stimulates the appetite – additionally emphasizing visual, taste, and aroma experiences accompanying a meal. The atmosphere created with the use of light (color), in accordance with the project’s idea, intends to result in that we want to return to that atmosphere – to once more celebrate the meal and be able to calmly look at the space, people, and objects which together create the present.
