| DESIGN NAME: Have a Seat PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: I have used recycled materials in my designs before. Now I wanted to design a chair where I can use recycled materials. It had to have something new and something old. It had to be like a piece of art. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: I have designed a chair where I have used recycled leather. Which is made of left over pieces from shoe and bacg factories. Colourful collection and clean lines. together makes it like art. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First time when I made some drawing of this was about 10 years ago. I made the final product in the last two months. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in autumn 2018 and finished in January 2019 in Lahti, Finland. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The chair is mainly made of recycled materials. The back of the chair and the seat is made of recycled cardboard. The surface of the seat is recycled leather, which is made of waste pieces from shoe and bag factories. The frame is made of wood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 450 mm x 450 mm x 630 mm It will be packed to the case. Like an artist case, with handle TAGS: chair, recycled, wooden, furniture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In this chair we have used a lot of time to find the right materials. To make this chair we need 5 m wood frame, 5 kg recycled cardboard and 0,5 kg of recycled leather. CHALLENGE: It took some time before I was satisfied with the measurements.Frame of a chair can be fasten to the wall and it is like a piece of art.A group of chairs hanging on a wall is easy to take down whenextra visitors are coming .
