PRIMARY FUNCTION: Modular Refrigerator
INSPIRATION: Whether you are at home or at a banquet or food that needs to be kept fresh, you need a refrigerating function. Different foods require different temperature and space requirements, or you may need customized services. In addition, the food display is 360 degree observable, allowing you to get food in any direction. In the kitchen area, the island counter is the beginning of this design. It is an open platform. The original intention of the design is to reduce the floor area and use the Icelandic design of the vertical upper space to increase the use layer according to user needs. number. Iceland is a compact product for large occasions.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Iceland is a medium sized refrigerated cabinet with a 360-degree curved viewing range. It is a door with two orientation switches on the same floor. It is different from the usual display cabinet, but is modular and separate. Partition storage, and can be customized according to user needs, or can be customized according to different temperatures to adapt to user needs in different scenarios. The use of one layer and multiple opening methods to ensure the convenience of the user to take food, and the upper and lower doors are staggered to ensure that the two people open the refrigerator at the same time without interference.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Iceland is using industry-proven technology, a curved glass door system that can easily pull sliding doors and magnetically lock. During operation, multiple people can simultaneously pull sliding doors of different orientations at the same time, so that people can take food at the same time, and adjust the temperature of different layers according to the storage temperature of different foods. The number of refrigerator layers can be customized according to their needs to meet the needs of the people.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in Shenyang in June 2018, was completed in Shenyang in September 2018, and was presented at the Industrial Design Institute of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in October 2018.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We live in an era of tremendous technological change, and many new technologies are being introduced into our world, and many devices are created using this technology. The glass part of the project is an interactive curved glass door system with a double glazing design to achieve a constant temperature in the freezer. Nowadays, the rise of smart homes, technology is becoming more and more a problem, and the intelligent connection module for temperature control is realized.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Initially carried out the research of modular design, and analyzed the application range of home appliance design to carry out the discussion on the design of refrigerator. Nowadays, the demand for personalized customization is improved, and naturally the requirements for the quality of life are improved. We conduct market and user surveys of different levels of consumption and preferences, and present many ideas for data visualization and brainstorming through team members to redesign and refine the refrigerator.
CHALLENGE: There are refrigerators with different functions in the market, and refrigerators in various households have become a necessity in the home. For the home market, the market will be smaller, and the demand for refrigerators for commercial users is still available, but it is more suitable for the concept of Icelandic refrigerators. Commercial users, but there are still a few cylindrical refrigerators rarely seen in the innovative market. Such refrigerators also have certain requirements for the use of the occasion, and a perfect customization mechanism is required to achieve mass production.
