| DESIGN NAME: Azimuth PRIMARY FUNCTION: Angle Laser Measurer INSPIRATION: One of the best ways to reach maximum efficiency for any project is by simplifying your tool set. Azimuth can do the job of multiple tools—It’s a digital level, line laser, cross laser, Laser Distance Measurer (LDM), angle finder, and has a navigation feature that will take you to where you need to go. Azimuth presents all measurements and data on an easy-to-read 12 inch screen, making completing your project a clear and direct process. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Azimuth can measure the angles you need, then project those measurements onto the object itself to be cut. It can then take you to the specific point on the wall where they needs to be placed, whether for crown moulding or placing cabinets. To do jobs like these, you would normally need various tools that are costly and take up lots of space. Azimuth can project 2 laser distance measurers, 2 point lasers, 2 line lasers, and an angle finder. With all of these features, it’s hard to think of what you can’t do with this tool. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Use this tool like you would any other level and easily switch to using one of its many other built-in functions depending on what you need for the job. The adjustable arm enables you to record specific angle measurements and project them using line lasers. With a line laser on each arm it can create cross lasers for angles up to 180º. Azimuth can do the job of multiple tools; it’s a digital level, line laser, cross laser, Laser Distance Measurer (LDM), angle finder, and it has a navigation feature that will take you to where you need to go, all presented on an easy to read 12 inch screen. With a multi-tool like Azimuth, you can get the job done with one tool instead of having to dragging around a heavy tool box to every jobsite. CHALLENGE: We wanted to simplify users' tool sets by incorporating everything one would need to design and execute a project into a single tool. With laser measurers, line lasers, point lasers, an inclinometer, a level, and guidance mode, as well as integration into our app, we enable users to quickly and easily switch between multiple types of planning and measurement. The next challenge was implementing all of this in a user-friendly way. For maximum usability, we went with a high-contrast 12-inch display with a simple-to-use 4-button interface to easily switch between modes and take measurements.
