| DESIGN NAME: Chic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: The unusual shape of this chair was inspired by the compositions of the famous painter Wassily Kandinsky. It represents geometric abstraction where the art is in favor of the functionality. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The most unique feature of this chair is its unusual design. Far from the norms and trends how a typical chair should look like it has a very specific and recognizable shape. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Easy for manufacturing, easy for assembling. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Engineering - 3 months, Prototype - in progress, Location - Bulgaria. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Body, seat and backrest can be either wooden or plastic. Legs - chromed pipes. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions - Width 485 mm x Depth 785 mm x Height 950 mm TAGS: Chic, Chair, Magma, Graphics, Furniture, Design, Bulgaria RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Following the aim of creating unique and recognizable chair i started to experiment with extremely unusual forms. Several shapes of body and legs have been produced and then evaluated and selected. CHALLENGE: Shape of the legs has been changed several times.
