| DESIGN NAME: Zhongping Road PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cultural inheritance INSPIRATION: It was inspired by the culture from Shanghai on 1930s. It contains the understanding and feeling of history by the people, who pursuing the traces of history as possible throughout the whole design process. Rainy night on the Zhongping road. Perhaps the best thing for Zhongping Road is to bring back the crowd. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Fuzhou, a well-developed shipping city, is also the gateway to the Maritime Silk Road. As a result, in the Republic of China, it brought prosperity to southeast China. Just like today's protagonist - Zhongping Road. Frankly, it is a landmark which stands for the communication between history and present. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It used to be an abandoned place until the client entered. With teasing out a profile of historical allusions, the Zhongping Road was inserted some ancient cultural ideas. With locally architectural characteristics, the whole street was rebuilt into a brand-new landmark. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It spent one and half year starting from designing to final completion. The project is in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Marble, Iron, Wood SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 800 meters street, 35,000 Square Meters TAGS: History, refurbishment RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With plenty of local ancient encyclopedia files and some modern business components. CHALLENGE: It was restricted since external walls were corroded via, as well, highly standards and several limitations were came up throughout whole program by government. The largest problem is how to reinforce each internal component of rebuilding ancient buildings.
