| DESIGN NAME: Layers PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: We believe that the aesthetics of life is piled up from all kinds of experiences. We hope the perfectly combined layers can bring different feelings to the resident and turn it into the experiences of life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We hope to provide a space to relax after work in the busy city. Using different combination of gray tone materials, stacking it layers by layers to create a unique tranquility atmosphere. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We want to create a feeling of flowing spaces. We try to use different color of flooring to define different spaces, it is also an ambiguous way to make different spaces be connected. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The construction duration of this case is three months. We save the original structure of this space and only change the surface materials to achieve a new spatial experience within a limited budget. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It's very important during the construction layout because of the materials have fixed size specifications and construction methods. For example, the calculation of the stacking of the wall tiles must be accurately calculated along with the width of the caulking. The dividing lines of flooring also need to be accurately layout in advance to present an elegant arc. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This apartment located on the 22th floor of Nangang district Taipei City. The public and private spaces are perfectly distributed. The building is built with weather-resistant materials to meet the humid climate of Taiwan. TAGS: Modern, Pile up, flow, peaceful Low, profile RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We want to enrich the small space through using different layers of material and processing delicate segment of lines. With the thick and heavy material and color, it creates a contrasting light and floating feeling. The curved lines in a square space can also create a feeling of flowing.
