DESIGN NAME: Bothering Blueberry
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fashion Jewellery
INSPIRATION: The design is inspired by the natural element such as fruits and plants. Also, this natural element will revenge us with a minatory shape such as sharp and broken glass surface for punishment method. The fruit and plant that we could access in our daily life are selected. Besides, the paper mâché used for this project, because the paper it comes from nature, but it is variously polluting nature. The paper mâché will be used for sustainability.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is about nature revenge. People are experiencing environmental pollution in the world, and it is true that we are living with pollution that human has caused for a long time. So we have to aware that we have to consider the significant environmental issue such as global warming and ocean trash. Therefore, the concept is about punishment from nature. The jewellery will contain the punishment method.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The jewellery rings with a sharp edge, and all jump rings are handmade with a sharp edge. Each ball has a hurting element for punishment. Moreover, the balls are movable when people wear the ring, and it hurt the skin with a sharp edge.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2019 in London and keep developing the design. This design will be exhibited in London in June 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main material is Paper. Paper mâché technique used for jewellery.
Recycled paper is used for sustainability. And the paper is dyed with natural dye powder.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The primary research method used for this design. I collected some natural elements such as fruit and plant. Also, the collected item is observed for exploring the fruits and plants to modify for punishment source. Moreover, I examined the paper mâché technique with different type of papers. And, I tried various dyeing sources such as ink, watercolour and natural dyeing powder.
CHALLENGE: The hardest part was sustainability. Because the concept is related to the environmental issue, the material should be sustainable and biodegradable. There are lots of different type of paper, and every paper has colour. So, When the paper blended, the colour was changed according to the paper type. Therefore, finding a great paper for sustainability was a challenge for this project.
