| DESIGN NAME: A Green Node PRIMARY FUNCTION: Showroom of Real Estate INSPIRATION: The central axis defined by large window system at front through staircase and end with an open air court yard. Inside this courtyard, we specially planted a huge tree to create the focal point and scene of nature. The raised floor design to put parking at first floor and connect to the court yard thus chimney effect can carry out heat from vehicles. Main axis with large glass panel windows bring in natural lights to create bright showroom. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Only about 200 meters away, there is a 26 hectares Daan Park considered as the Central Park of Taipei. In order to reflect the idea of its nature surroundings, the showroom is designed to bring the nature inside and reduce carbon footprint becoming a green node in concrete jungle. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Step on the stairs, air plants (Tillandsia) hanging down from high ceiling glass top hold by strings not only give some hint of green but can also be seen as vertical sculpture, a chandelier that soften the space. Furthermore a mall ground cover carpet is planted underneath the staircase creates a continuous green corridor from outside lawn to the tree in the courtyard. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Site area: 330 square meter TAGS: Green Node, Model House for Real Estate RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The site is facing an important north-south road, Xinsheng south road, and locates in between two major east-west boulevards, Renai Road and Xinyi Road. Only about 200 meters away, there is a 26 hectares Daan Park considered as the Central Park of Taipei. In order to reflect the idea of its nature surroundings, the showroom is designed to bring the nature inside and reduce carbon footprint becoming a green node in concrete jungle. CHALLENGE: It's a two-story tall building with limited window opening on the both wing to block the western exposure and busy street. Inside this courtyard, we specially planted a huge tree to create the focal point and scene of nature.
