| DESIGN NAME: Emporio PRIMARY FUNCTION: Retail Store INSPIRATION: "Bathrooms of future has no door" This text was a major influence in creating a interior space that allows user to explore bathing culture. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The store allows a user to experience different style & culture in bathing. A user can explore physically & interact digitally to understand the products displayed in this project. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Brief - Study - Research - Design - Planning - Execution - Finishing - Handover. The interior design allows user to explore and create his own bath culture or personal bath ritual for him/her. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2016 in Kochi, India Finished in December 2017 in Kochi, India Opened to public on January 2018 in Kochi, India FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Virtual reality, Interactive touch & kinect screens to explore every brand and its distinctive product range. The store makes the user active & creates a experience memorable. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project area is 4,000 sq.m of interior space TAGS: Future ready, Energy efficient, Water efficient, Interior RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The interior was an outcome of design stratergy from the market studies. The retail store interior was designed in way to stand out & provide a unique experience to the users. Interactive digital screens & virtual reality were employed to add the user experience. Concept & materials of the interior spaces were kept inviting & cozy to create a bond between the users and the products displayed. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create a space that can compliment the needs of the client. The creative challenge was to create space for every brand resembling its culture and values. Understanding each brand, its product and creating a environment that truly compliments them was a challenge. The incorporation of interactive user experience was intense in execution of the project.
