INSPIRATION: We created the brand arbofonics because we believe in good music on vinyl. Our roots are in a multi award winning industrial design agency. We do what we do because we love it and believe in the value of positive design. Due to our knowledge of materials and possibilities of modern production processes we are proud in our craftmanship and are always on the lookout for fine materials that fits our needs and is friendly to our environment... UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Meliac is a wonderful artisan Headshell, handmade in Berlin with only the finest ingredience. Luxuriorus exotic wood meets precious metals of highest purity, brought into shape by the multi-awardwinning Designstudio Nils Fischer. It will unfolds an incredible naturalistic and lively soundscape on your turntable.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: You can use your favourite needle with the fitting music. An Audiotechnics AT for HipHop and an Orthofon Super for classical music? No problem with the well known SME-connector (built e.g. in the famous Technics 1200 mk XX). Just change the headshell with the same ease as you change your records...
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project startet mid 2018 in Berlin and had a first market entry in December 2018

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: It was important to find the perfect material wich provided the right frequencies absorbing abilities. To we testet an great number of combinations of different types of wood and metals. The testing was in one part done in a pure pysicall way and the other part in a musicstudio with skilled accustic engeniers.
CHALLENGE: Greatest challenge was to find the right wood wich had a good combination of right density and astethic grain. It had to absorb the right range of frequencies and had to look awesome...
