| DESIGN NAME: eRook Compact PRIMARY FUNCTION: Battery INSPIRATION: The investment in the manufacture of batteries, custom is high. We needed a low-cost, simple and more eco-friendly. Another important aspect was the system of connection of terminals, other systems are more complicated, dangerous and less accurate. My inspiration was me asking how to understand a child a battery. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Flexible and scalable solution for energy storage of lithium-ion. In function of the needs, the battery can be produced in the right size, thanks to the manufacture of the central block by means of extrusion. Your system of connectors, allows you to join multiple drives in an easy, fast, secure and intuitive. His slot on the side, makes the transport and the handling, comfortable and ergonomic. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The storage of energy in batteries domestic, is a growing need. The current systems are unfriendly and handling difficult and dangerous. With our new system the mounting of the batteries is a thing of children. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project starts in April 2018 and ending in December 2018 in Pamplona Will be presented at the fair GENERA 2019 in Madrid. Has been selected as one of the 11 most innovative projects in Spain, of energy. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The manufacture of the product is performed by the injection of plastic of a lid, being the same at the beginning and at the end of the product. The body is made through the extrusion of other plastic. The interior houses the cells of Lithium-Ion battery and control electronics. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 250 mm X Variable X 165mm TAGS: Battery, Li-Ion battery, Energy, Consumption, Efficiency, Innovation, Modular, scalable RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The mixture in production processes such as injection and extrusion of plastics, allowed us to achieve a family of products without the need of investment in each model. The capacity of the batteries depends on the number of cells of Lithium - Ion batteries that are in its interior. To grow lengthwise in the cells, and in housing, we can scale the product according to need. The aspect of transportation and installation of the product by users are not technical, it was an extremely important element in the research. The tools and methods that we commonly use in our projects are Agile and Design Thinking.
