| DESIGN NAME: Simply Living Residence PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: Satisfy spatial needs at different points in everyday life with, converges on the two rooms, kitchen, and living room occasionally acting as ritual spaces of work and tea-tasting room, so that the owner can have a complete open space that is also main meeting room and tea-tasting room as well, at any time, at his disposal, bringing a functionally balanced spatial program set in residential and work spaces. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The residence is of 30 years since its construction, and the design originates from the requirement of being an interior design atelier with residential and living functions.With the previous three-room planning was limited to conventional layout with poor circulation path; the design is to minimize the framework of doors by going against the conventional interior layout in arranging multi-functional region quality through circulation flow.Space and its functionality can be easily converted to suit usage needs of residential, working studio or tea-tasting room. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The layout breaks away from the conventional layout with the axis of custom-made long table in generating functions such as conference, office work, reading and dining etc. while bringing in sunlight into the public domains, living functions of tea-tasting room which could be turned into a childrens room, multi-purpose room which could be turned into the master bedroom, which in turn allows the interior to have an expandable and flexible interior. CHALLENGE: With fully extended and free-flowing circulation, a free floor-plan structure is formed so that all partitioning mediums can leisurely formulate a liberated format and relationship with one another. Through the revolving or sliding door panels to control the spatial formation in facilitating any usage needs.As all door panels and cabinet volumes are all in synergy,all the storages seemed to have vanished into an abstract except in actual usages.
