| DESIGN NAME: Light Container PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Light spreads and flows. It is the horizontal and vertical lines that cut through space. The tipsiness of light creates timely poems, while the solidification of light creates exquisite dialogues. Light is the envoy that warms up dwelling spaces. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The spatial pattern of this residence design project sought not to use straight lines. As such, a cross axis was used to segment the spaces in which the main spaces of the living room and the dining room were in opposite directions and had distinct boundary. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The owner did not seek to pursue fashionable spatial designs and made necessity his first priority. The living and dining room are in front while the main bedroom and parent’s bedroom are at the rear. Light then connects all the spaces. Tender and blooming elm cover sprinkles on the wooden floor, creating a tenderness and warmth. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in Mar. 2015 in Taichung City, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The entrance was made up of dark wooden covers. A poetic piece of green color created the natural and soothing image of the entrance. The living room continued the wooden color on the ground, while its main walls used marble stones with mild and tender colors. The bottom was coordinated with clean and white carved stone pieces. The simple boundaries quietly sit under light with layers that looked marvelous and not sophisticated. Grayish green sofa was selected to further implement the natural atmosphere of this place. Tree shrews outside ceiling windows could be slightly seen as lights shine inside, creating coherent scenery with those inside. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 148 square meters TAGS: Interior Design, Residential ,House,Space RESEARCH ABSTRACT: When the aisle reached the dining room, visions on the left-hand and right-hand sides are both extended to the sky. Reserved windows will introduce light inside while one can gaze outside into the sky outside them. The dining room used a slightly transparent white as its main color as a whole, while linear segments and ceiling light brought about its spatial axis. Tawny tables and cupboards are integrated with kitchen island in maintaining a fluid flow. If one closes up the multifunctional indoor slide door, made-up trees can further enrich the definition of this space. CHALLENGE: Wooden surfaces extend to the central axis of the space. Indirect lights and dim recessed lamps brought about elegant and tranquil texture to this place, as if traveling to another space through time tunnel. The moderate color tone of the headboard at the main bedroom exists harmoniously with the calm interior color. In coordination with low-key silky lighted sheets, it presents tranquility and elegance.
