| DESIGN NAME: Folded Window Pattern PRIMARY FUNCTION: Two-in-One Folded Stool INSPIRATION: This design is inspired by traditional eastern curved window lattice. It uses traditional window frame pattern on one stool surface and uses eastern window shallow shape as legs of the other stool. The chosen materials and shapes are based on beautiful eastern window, which shows traditional beauty. The structure is like modern folding furniture. It is suitable for small space living environment in big cities but meet the aesthetic standards at the same time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Folding furniture is popular due to peoples' small living space in crowded city. However many eastern peoples' home environment and decoration are in traditional eastern style. The design is inspired by eastern curved window lattice. Stools can be folded to see the beauty of traditional eastern wood window. The stool is functional, it can be folded in two different ways, like a side table or stool. The traditional style stool is in a modern folding way to show eastern beauty. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2018 in China and finished in June 2018 in China. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The stools are made of natural wood:walnut and elm. The whole structure is detailed and skillful mortise joint. The whole stool have higher quality and much longer lifespan than flat-style furniture.
