| DESIGN NAME: Lamella PRIMARY FUNCTION: Textile INSPIRATION: The design research has resulted in the creation of Lamella Textile for experimental collection called Exploration of Fashion. The main assumptions concern idea of material that incorporates new technologies and new functionality into a traditional textile. Multilayered collage is inspired by organic patterns and textures. Multiplication of structure closed under biodegradable laminate has been an image of waste problems in our environment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lamella is a multilayered handmade unique textile. Various types of textures and colors build a fashion collection with accessories. The project is based on technological experiments and sustainable design issue. Alternative material combination is a composition of components such a biodegradable laminate, recycled mesh and antibacterial canvas which together creating durable structure friendly for environment. Presented textile is a part of larger project Exploration of Fashion. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Textile dedicated for fashion sectors as well interior design fields and many more. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in March 2018 and finished in November 2018 as a research publication for education sector. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials: biodegradable laminate, recycled mesh, antibacterial canvas Technology: heat techniques of layering, handmade pattern composition, unique techniques SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Collection of multilayered handmade unique textiles in the various types of patterns, textures and colors with material weight from 160g to 350g. TAGS: textile, experiment, innovation, eco, art, fashion, future, education RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The balance between art and design has related to the research for new areas of fashion exploration. Development of unique textile with different properties present possibilities of creating a vision of products based on technological experiments and sustainable design. Unconventional material combination giving unlimited possibilities of surprising patterns and colorful compositions. CHALLENGE: An important achievement in the design process was the study of material combinations. A lot of handmade fabrics have been created for the final satisfactory textile combinations. The hardest part was sewing of clothes and accessories designs as a dimensional form with perfect finishing details. The challenge was to create own textile and put into vision of fashion collection. NAME: Cios PROFILE: Elzbieta Cios is young textile and fashion designer from Poland. Doctorate in the field of design, nominated for the Prime Minister’s Award 2016. Honorary badge Distinguished for Polish Culture 2017. Studies: Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and RESAD Madrid 2005-2010. Specialized in experiments and innovations with craft and unique techniques, digital and new technologies in design. Since 2010 working in University of Arts in Poznan, Poland in Unique Fashion Design Studio. Colaborates with theaters as a set and costumes designer. Performances showed at many Festivals in Europe, Japan, China and the USA. Her art-work was presented in the documentary Metropolis - Posen 2015 produced by the German-French TV ARTE. Representative of Poland at La Triennale Internationale des Arts Textiles en Outaouais Canada 2016. Winner of the program Polish Culture around the world IAM Warsow; attended The 6th Art Festival in Kiyomizu-kogen in Nagano and the International Exhibition At Art Exhibition CASO Osaka in Japan 2017. Participation in VII Bienal International De Arte Textil Contemporaneo in Montevideo (2017) and Balconadas Show in Uruguay (2017) and many more.
