| DESIGN NAME: 82f Performance Cruiser PRIMARY FUNCTION: 82f Sailing Yacht INSPIRATION: The PC28 is a new additon to the yachts designed by HENNDESIGN. And is the perfect combination of modern yacht technologies and fine esthetics. Furthermore it is best described as the best of two worlds, advanced sailing experience and compelling comfort in one concept. Influences for this project were classic sailing yachts as well as clean modern architechture. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The most obvious thing that comes up when you look at the PC82f is the clean deck solution and the racing hull. From the first day the goal was set to make the best performance yacht possible. Therefore it was essential to combine a hull that is influenced by the shape of racing hulls with a comfortable and cozy deckslayout. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The PC82f is develop for handling with a small crew. The clean deck layout is on one side save at all sailing operation and on the other side comfortable and luxury for the guests. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2019 in Shipyard in South of China and will finished in September 2020. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Hull and Deck: GRP Sandwich, Carbon Fibre reinforced, Vacuum infusion manufactured Mast, Boom and Rigging: Carbon fibre SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Loa: 25,80 mt, Lwl: 24,99 mt, Beam: 6,15 mt, Draft: 1,5 mt, Displacement: 120.000 Kg, Engine: 2x 220hp. Guests: 8-10, Crew: 3 TAGS: HENNDESIGN, Yachtdesign, Performance Cruiser, Sailing RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research work for this design has moved with the intent to find a timeless look, that doesn't feel obsolete just after few years but that can last over the taste and trend changing. On one hand the shape found its origin in modern americas cup race yachts and on the other hand it is inspired by minimalistic achrichtectural features and propotions. Interesting to see is are also the similarities toold sport coupes because of the long bow and the slim black deck structure reminds of a spyder greenhouse. This is not a coincidence and also the coulorway of hull and deck finds its origin here. CHALLENGE: The main creative challenge has been to maintain an high standard of comfort, compared with the directs competitors, and at the same time achieve a minimalistic look. The most habitable volume would be a box, like buildings, so anytime we try to sculpt this volume, with muscles, sleek lines, curved surfaces, we take some habitability off. We needed to ensure a high sailing performance and usability as well as the reqiured interior heights, sundeck furniture, pool and lounge areas, crew area.
