DESIGN NAME: A Cup of Life
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Coffe Cup
INSPIRATION: A coffee cup that you can drink from easily at any time has really taken root in European culture. At the same time at train
stations, in pedestrian zones and parks, they spring from the garbage cans: Coffee cups. Through this package, I would
like to propose the possibility of long term use of a coffee cup that is not disposable, using materials suitable for the
environment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A Cup of Life is a package design combining a coffee cup and a vase.
Each of the small cups consists of two parts. The upper side is the special feature, a seed bomb, and the middle can be used as a
coffee cup with coffee powder in it by folding it into a mountain shape along bent lines.
The shape is inspired by drip coffee.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each of the small cups consists of two parts. The upper side is the special feature, a seed bomb, and the middle can be used as a
coffee cup with coffee powder in it by folding it into a mountain shape along bent lines.
It can be used as a potted plant by putting the upper side's seeds and soil after drinking coffee.
The package has a flat shape so it is easy to carry.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2018 in the Czech Republic and finished in May, and was exhibited in Prague in September 2018.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research is to think of a package design that is suitable for the environment and can replace the
current "littered coffee cup ". I think that it is obviously not a good thing to throw away a coffee cups at the roadside, so instead, I would like to propose a
new way of usage, paying attention to its water resistance, so it is possible to create unique and new value. Make the
package flat and easy to carry, using FSC cardboard but coated with a biodegradable material, to create something of new value.
CHALLENGE: The most difficult part was to find materials that are good for the environment and to have excellent water.
In order to solve this problem, I used FSC cardboard, coated with biodegradable material.
To make it easy to hold and visually beautiful as a cup of coffee, I made it flat and look like coffee shaped packaging.
