| DESIGN NAME: Enkel Rygg PRIMARY FUNCTION: Automatic Bath Brush INSPIRATION: Just looking for something in the bathroom that do a bit more than just a bath brush. Need something that gives us more options, sometimes it is better to have something with the different ability and features. Now days face exfoliator devices are very common. We think what would be happened to have a larger exfoliator that could be useful for the entire body. Also, we just add some other functions in this device to make it as a heart of the bathroom. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a totally new bathroom brush with some new features. It comes with the cabinet could install on the wall inside the bathroom. This brush has three extra brush pads that fit inside the cabinet. Also, it is possible to have extra brush pads in different colors for other family members. The device batteries charge when it hangs on the cabinet wirelessly. In the tail of the RYGG we add a flashlight, it could be useful for the elderly and when the house electricity is gone. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Most of the times, RYGG hang on its base in the bathroom. It would let the device batteries to charge well and work well in bath time. The user could change pads very easy, by opening the cabinet door and select what to go. Pads uninstall or install by click on the device. It just has a button for start, stop pad spin. Four different pads are Brush, Washcloth, Massager and Pumic pad. We think Pumic pad is useful for people with some difficulties and they could not use normal pumice for their sole. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2017 and was finished in January 2019 in Tehran, Iran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The cabinet is made out of bent aluminum sheet finished with three anodized colors. The inner part is injection mold plastic. The device itself main body is made out of fine woods in limited edition models and plastic for economy models. Also, use silicon rubber for handle grip part. It is just a concept design and we looking forward to find a proper way for production. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Exact sizes are not shown to public yet: Device lenght is little bit less than 60 cm, and the pad dimeter is 12 cm. Cabinet has 75 x 30 x 13 cm. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The leading aspect was to find the best way for the elderly and people with difficulties in the bath to wash their back and entire body. Then we realized that this device could use by people who love to exfoliate their body skin. The cabinet on the wall let the user hang the device on it and charge the batteries wirelessly. Extra pads in the cabinet make it a device for entire family members. CHALLENGE: The most challenging part of this design was the pads and the function that let us have spinning pads in a waterproof device. Charging the batteries was one of the other challenges we faced, first we think about some regular charger but we end up with this cabinet and a place for storing extra pads.
