PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center
INSPIRATION: Based on the psychological needs and experience, we found that citizens always have a desire to escape from the city and return to the nature. Thinking to the opposite of city life, contemporary people have found their original desire for living environment. In design planning, we have introduced contemporary concepts of “protection” and “extension”, respecting to space privacy, as well as providing good communications among urban space, nature, architecture, traffic and human. With special considerations for light and shadow, for human’s psychological requirements of privacy and for principals of urban development, we create a space to tell what is the most original and expected life in citizen’s mind. Space images are interacted with memories, bringing human back to their origins, creating a pure emotional toch.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to distinguish from other designs,we have taken advantage of the special characteristics of the site and presented these particularities in design. The project is located in a very leisure city, and at the same time, it is a temporary sales office with a special underground garage which has a mezzanine. According to these particularities, we have made a special distribution that the first floor is designed as a reception sales area, and the mezzanine has been used as a working place for employees. This distribution has been well adapted to the original characteristics as well as satisfying perfectly to the requirements of functions. We use these spatial characteristics to create a place to stay with tranquility, as if you were staying in a corner without any annoyance, accompanied by reading, feeling the change of things when you look up. Natural light and shadow changes with time creating a fantasy atmosphere in the space. Interactions between pure natural light and shadow have brought a new immersive experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Protection and extension are the key concepts. When people enter the space, they would naturally calm down, generating expects to stay, read and communicate.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Located in JiangSu, China,the project began in February 2018 and was completed in June 2018

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials of this project are environmentally friendly wood, moisture-proof texture paint, black serpeggiante, laminate flooring, aluminum grille with imitation wood texture.
Natural light and shadow are integrated into the design. Natural wood color has strengthened the feeling of tranquility and comfort. The experience of light and shadow have brought a deep thought of life attitude. Light and shadow are changing with time, sometimes mottled, sometimes bright with sunshine, creating a beautiful experience of time and space. The whole pace is in a comfortable natural state, making people enjoy their life, feeling the change of things, and experiencing the fantastic changes of light and shadow. When people enter the space, they would naturally calm down, to stay, read and communicate.

Result: The current scale of the whole space is more comfortable. It is designed with special considerations which distinguishes from regular sales centers. We concentrated from details to the whole space experience, connecting interior with exterior. Our objective is to create a poetic experience in the space. We hope that the interior space is open to outside and citizens can enter here easily without any pressure. It is not only a sales center, but also an open public reading space for citizens.
CHALLENGE: The urban environment is natural which need to be considered. The original space was quite cramped, and there are many basic functional requirements to be reorganized in the space. Design need to find a balance among creativity, limit, consumer psychology, experience needs, environmental protection and energy saving.
