| DESIGN NAME: A Life Roams Free PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The public area of this building sees art and creativity collide, so the inspiration aims to be a direct callback at such. The semi-circular stair design in public area also plays a big part to the overall design concept. It made the arc concept expanded and into the interior. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The arc motif is expanded into different parts of the house. Starting with an arc-shape cabinet to create an unique traffic flow to promote the overall sense of space. The different heights between the entrance, living room, and the dining room is yet another design cue for a feel of spaciousness. A multi-purpose table is commissioned to work between the study and dining. Some stripped-down french moulding ceiling pattern to provide a sense of layering when looking up. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Although it is only the design of the interior space, from the particularity of the building where the project is located: it has the art gallery, bookstore, sculpture... etc., which is full of human and artistic public space, thus determining the contemporary art and sculpture into the interior design. The first step is to design a arc structure with culpture feeling between the entrance of the house and the living room. In addition to take concerted the public area of the building, also create an unique traffic flow to promote the overall sense of space. Expand the arc motif into different parts of the house. CHALLENGE: The owner makes an inquiry of having double bed in each and every room of the house. However the smaller rooms just do not possess enough real estate after a double bed.
