DESIGN NAME: Umbu
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ajustable Desk Lamp
INSPIRATION: We started from this simple idea that an adjustable desk lamp should always be easy and enjoyable to move: durability was the keyword. We focused to create a smooth and light movement, in every direction possible, with the most simple and resistant mechanic system.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: - An organic movement -
A poetic desk lamp, an adjustable direct light. The movement is continuous and soft. A triple articulation: the stem turn to both sides and adjusts the degree of inclination. The reflector has a diverse set of movements.
- Value of natural materials -
A handcrafted contemporary design - an artisanal mixing brass, metal, Brazilian solid wood, and granite stone. The symbioses - touching the solid wood reflector is smooth.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The movement is continuous and soft. A triple articulation: the stem turn to both sides and adjusts the degree of inclination. The reflector has a diverse set of movements.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2018 and ended a few months ago.
