RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As the site is situated next to parkland, the design team adopts open format in the interior layout, with natural lighting and view taken into consideration; material usage is centered on natural characteristics of building materials; color scheme is mainly of neutral and reserved black, white and earth colors in shaping a tranquil and minimal spatial representation; for the semi-open study space of which the door is located at the corridor, with the sliding door design on both sides of the TV wall, it forms a co-dependent spatiality with the living room, all subject to open and flowing living style. In spite of the fact that the format of materials and colors is not complex at all, even though with techniques of turn and extension, each domain and volume manifests the rhythmic beauty of changes in spatial layers.
CHALLENGE: Apart from the major beam on the ceiling, there was the visual issue of visual obstruction caused by the column volume, which the design team, therefore, has utilized for demarcating each domain from one another, as well as for forming visual axes, in developing the continuous elevation from study to bedroom; through a series of domain medium, it symbolizes the congregating power of families, while giving the living interior its rightful characteristics of comfort, as well as possessing the ambiance of exquisite modernity.
