DESIGN NAME: Hotel Ease Access
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel
INSPIRATION: Initially a commercial building now transformed into a teahouse-like hotel located in a crowded area, where the environment is noisy and lacking of green elements. The concept is to bring in different elements such as concrete, wood, and matte - with less reflection so that the rooms would have a balanced and comfortable atmosphere.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This hotel is themed by nature and to capture this essence, planter boxes have been used around the hotel and inside the hotel rooms, to bring in nature from the outside into the interior to create a warm and cozy ambiance. We have used wooden colors combined with shades of grey and white for a neutral atmosphere. Different materials such as concrete, wood, and matte - with less reflection have also been used so that the rooms would have a balanced and comfortable atmosphere.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The building is initially a commercial building, surrounded by factories and industrial buildings. Instead of design an industrial-style hotel, we have been inspired by the Japanese tea house and hence transformed it into a teahouse-like hotel. It would be a brand new experience for the guests staying in the hotel.
CHALLENGE: As the hotel is saturated in city area surrounded by tall buildings, the design challenge is to provide a comfortable environment to tourists and customers. In addition to placing planter boxes, the designers have brought in different elements with less reflection so that the rooms would have a balanced and comfortable atmosphere. Wooden colors have been used to combine with shades of grey and white for a harmonious atmosphere. When the guests come back after traveling or shopping, they can take rest and enjoy the neutral atmosphere in the hotel rooms.
