DESIGN NAME: Ornamental Ceramics
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rings
INSPIRATION: Colours are the inspiration of life. Each colour has a different effect on our psyche and our body, because each colour has its own wavelength and energy that is transmitted to our bodies. I wanted to capture this in my creations and make it accessible to the wearer.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ceramics is a fascinating material. It can be mixed in almost every Pantone colour. With my rings, I focused on the colours of the selected gems. It was important for me to grasp their exact hues, expressing the power of colour more strongly in conjunction with gold and silver. The colours are supported by the ornamentation and this brings out their positive effects.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The band rings are very comfortable to wear. Shape and colour are pleasing to the wearer.
Colours are words of a language, with which very different emotions arouse and express emotions, such as well-being and joy.
Purple stands for dignity, mysticism and protection. It is the colour of inspiration and art, it is extravagant and has a noble and mysterious effect, it also supports concentration and self-confidence.
Yellow is the colour of the sun. Yellow stands for light, optimism and joy, but also for knowledge, reason and logic. Yellow shines and promotes creativity.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Development time from 2017 to 2018.
From the first idea, through the development of the first prototype of the ring, and the examination of the colour mixture and the durability of the ceramics in the ring, to the actual completion, it took a whole year.
The rings are made in our own studio in Steinbach, Germany.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During the development of the rings, I concentrated on the combination of colour mixtures. The biocompatible material is resistant to adhesion, impact and wear, making it ideal for high-quality and custom designs.
CHALLENGE: One of the biggest challenges in the production of the rings was the construction of the ornamentation on the rings, as well as the mixture of ceramic colours, their application without blistering and the durability between ceramic and metal.
