| DESIGN NAME: Maven PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stackable Ergonomic Chair INSPIRATION: Generally, the weight of the user in conventional working seats is only loaded to the hip. In this type of sitting position, the joints in the body remain very narrow and therefore the blood flow is slow. This causes various ergonomic problems. In addition, the office chairs occupy a lot of space in the office when not in use. It was the secondary motivation of the project to make these seats preferable both during the transport phase and during storage and carrying. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Maven is a working chair that can offer different ergonomic session positions to the product user. Thanks to the Maven's sitting shape, the user is in the main working position while spreading the body weight evenly to the knee and hip. In this way, less pressure occurs in the joints, the body posture remains in a balanced position and contributes to the blood circulation. Maven can be stored in such a way that it can occupy very little space when not in use due to its nesting and stackable. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Maven is very easy to use. Once removed from the carton box, it is ready for use. It does not require additional assembly, such as conventional furniture. When carried and stored, it can be placed on the transportation stand and stored at the desired location. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is designed and prototyped in Konya/TURKEY in 2019. Registration of design in Turkey is a still ongoing process. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Maven, which can be produced from recycled polypropylene plastic material, can be produced from a single die in a drain and can be produced without the need for a secondary production step. Thanks to the potential of PP material that can be applied in different color and texture alternatives, different identities can be reflected to the product and it can be made available to any environment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The dimensions of Maven are 596 x 796 x 724 mm. Plastic details are present underneath the inside of the products so that they do not damage each other when they overlap. Each package will also have a wheeled transport stand used to carrying the product within the office. Maven will be packed in individual boxes in 10 pieces by stacking on top of each other. The dimensions of each package are 600 x 800 x 1200 mm. Euro Pallet (80 x 120 EPAL) standards and a pallet on each of the 10 products in each. TAGS: Maven, chair, plastic, stackable, ergonomic RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The study-oriented sitting action has been researched to date with many academic studies. After investigating the researches, market research of the products made on this subject has been done. One-to-one interviews were made with office workers and their needs were defined. Then, ergonomic data were created for office workers. Space problems in office areas that are constantly shrinking are also observed and provided as project contribution. CHALLENGE: The main aim of the project was to solve all problems at the same time for office workspaces. Interpreting an ergonomic fit with a nested form distinguishes the project from the others. It will be a reasonable investment for the manufacturer by providing the convenience of production with conventional production facilities. Since the materials used in the production of Maven are recycled, it will be preferable for the customer to be produced with different color and texture alternatives besides contributing to the nature.
