| DESIGN NAME: The Indoor Playground for Man and Boy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: This residential project is the dream home meticulously planned by the female owner for the boy and the man in the house; the entire design fuses the male owner’s dignity with the little boy’s childlike innocence, using the neutral gray color with the warm wood pattern to penetrate through two types of different tones, such that the open-style venue structures the dad’s audio-visual paradise as well as the little boy’s play area. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The master bedroom is the private space for the female owner to relax and enjoy the tranquility. It ingeniously satisfies the various needs for all members of the family. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The extension of the gradual-changing elevation fuses with the surfaces of the beams as well as the ceiling, demonstrating rhythmic spatial contours; the central island style kitchen counter design extends the linear axis of the dining room space, further enhancing the spatial functions to satisfy the female owner’s needs. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The open-style public space for the living and dining rooms are based on refreshing wood patterns as the foundation, where the application of dark and pale wood colors create the cozy home atmosphere; the natural wood patterned ceiling symbolizing a forest tree house in the living room is used as the partition for the space, while the irregular shaped shoe cabinet and television wall are stacked randomly like LEGO blocks, which is then assembled using gray marble, steel-brushed veneer and white laminate to blend into the living room elevation with different materials. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is 120 square meters TAGS: Residential,Space,In RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The tranquility of the dining room is set by the dark wood colored dining table, decorated with chandelier resembling Ferrero Rocher and the dots handle in macaron colors; the application of Lotos wall featuring primitive texture together with the blackboard wall allowing children to doodle freely adds the fun to life, and the application of several accessories allows the space to be filled with various colors and energetic vitality, these two base tones are then balanced using the gray tone. CHALLENGE: The master bedroom applied cozy warm color tones to accomplish consistency within the spatial design, and further used wood quality texture to embellish the stress given out by the crossbeams, while the elevation continues with the utilization of wood quality to transform the remaining space into a small dressing space, thereby making the best use out of the space under the beams by including it into the design loop.
