DESIGN NAME: Traffic-Light System 2.0
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Traffic Lights
INSPIRATION: Continuous perfection has become a fundamental part of the development of an updated and improved design. The need for more painstaking development of joints, shapes and their dimensions to ensure refinement and perfection. The embodiment of promising design trends in conjunction with the prospects for the development of technology determines the final result.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Utilitarian beauty enclosed in exquisite and at the same time simple understandable forms. And all this in order to provide exceptional pleasure from communication with the definitely important in the life of each one person product of the road system - traffic light.
The updated version of the acclaimed work has become even simpler, but at the same time more detailed. Each square millimeter of design justifies its presence by 100% completing the image of successful function and elegance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The convenient and intuitively clear design anticipates the user's thoughts and allows them to respond more quickly to road signs, which, thanks to the design, have become fundamentally visual and informative. The integration of navigation elements identified it as a truly self-sufficient element of the road and transport infrastructure. Arrows are able to show the way the driver could use saving the time and providing the better understanding.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2018 in Moscow and finished in January 2019 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It took nearly half a year of problem-solving and finding the best way the light could operate. Making decision of implementing the animation in to the user interface design and creating it afterwards with the work on tiny but important details.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The use of ultra-modern technology, covering a number of diametrically opposed spheres, creates a unique type of design. Bright in content and peculiar in shape of the OLED display matrix reflect dynamic and contrast visualization, clearly informing about the situation on the road. Durable parts, protective elements, metal enclosures made on a CNC installation create an adequate level of safe to use product. The final design is based on the principles of modularity for convenient production and use
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions: 300 mm x 2200 mm x 75 mm
Materials used in product are: stainless steel mainly used for the body, covering and its stand, a glass preventing the display of any kind of damage, OLED display which is produced in special-sized shape to fit the body, power input with 220 voltage system.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The perception of thelight has not changed for many decades since its inception, and all design changes were of a slightly pronounced evolutionary nature. Changes began to occur from the moment of realizing the possibility of introducing advanced technologies into a product that is extremely popular and in demand throughout the world, but which did not pay enough attention. The vector of thinking shifted two years ago, when for the first time, the revolutionary design of the traffic-light was able to win the hearts of thousands of people, dozens of jury members from various competitions and hundreds of editors of well-known publications.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge in developing a new design was the need to anticipate and improve the previously developed design. Ordering details, their shapes, sizes and production technologies, together with the development of a fundamentally updated system of graphic information and its appearance, through the integration of photo-realistic practices.
