PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart Pet Collar
INSPIRATION: I had a dog loss experience as a child. So now when I grew up, I had the opportunity to develop a device to avoid such tragic moments. Herewith to make this device fashionable.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Rawr, an ultimately smart pet collar that protects and connects your pet to you
device uses advanced combination of GPS, cellular and Wi-Fi to provide the most accurate location.
Measure activity, keep diet and set goals to keep your buddy in shape.
collar has an ambient temperature and water sensors and will notify you whenever your pet is too hot or too cold or is in danger of drowning.
Thanks to remotely controlled LED lights Rawr will make sure your pet is visible up to 500 m
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: RAWR offers a variety of band colors and materials so that you can pick what suits best your pet's style.
Also collar has IOS application which helps to know your furkids location, keep track of their health and activity and share their adventures with friends and family.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Was exhibited in CES 2019 in January 2019

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Device has hypoallergenic plastic case. It is fully protected from dust, rain, splash and can withstand being submerged in 1 m (about 3.3 ft) of static water for up to 30 mins. Also it has changable straps made of hypoallergenic rubber, steel, leather.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: during the study I collected a bunch of reviews about similar devices. The main problems were: Bulky and eve scary look, which make people think that this is a shock collar; weak strap attachment
So the goal was to make design attractive and friendly. This was achieved by making shape rounded and bent
CHALLENGE: The hardest part for this project is production and technical restrictions.
This device include two PCBs, battery, bunch of antennas, LEDs, vibro. All of this components must be placed in a very tight space. Challenge was to accept bigger battery, while keeping overall size as small as possible. Herewith antennas must be placed to avoid interfering. Solving these issues required a lot of communication with engineers.
