| DESIGN NAME: Drinks Cabinet PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bar INSPIRATION: The Drinks Cabinet reminds us of our grandmmas wooden cabinet, more and more used in kitchens as a storage element. Everything you want your gests to enjoy when visiting your office or home. The Corian DuPont white area, the worktop, antibacterial and water resistant makes this Cabinet easy for maintenance. The led lights make the glasses and bottles look classy which is a good detail in space. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The white Corian DuPont material offers an antibacterial as well as water resistant worktop surface for preparing drinks. This material is not only practical and durable, but it also adds an eco friendly feature to the build. At the same time, Corian DuPont makes cleaning and maintenance as easy as possible. The wine fridge has easy access ventilation and a temperature control system. Sensor led lighting illuminates the interior and puts the gleaming glasses and bottles in the best light. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Drinks Cabinet can also be put on wheels, so if you need a wine storage solution that is also mobile, dsignedby has you covered. Plus, when you are not using it, you can close it up to save space then it is just a sleek, unassuming cabinet with a boozy surprise inside. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The idea of this project was born in September 2018 throughout the talks about a certain project with clients in Single Malt industry. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Drinks Cabinet is made with solid oak shelving and oak veneered sides, along with a white Corian DuPont worktop for making and pouring drinks that is sustainable, water resistant, and antibacterial. The wine fridge has easy access ventilation and temperature control, so you know your favorite bottles are in good hands. And the led lighting is a stylish bonus that lights up all the bottles and glassware on the shelves. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Outside product dimension are 900mm x 900mm x 2200mm The wooden doors with shelving are 200mm wide to provide enough space for any type of glass to hang. Solid oak wood shelves are designed to hold the glasses in place when the door opens or closes. The 3d form of these shelves is achieved by cnc milling. We wanted to create all in one drinks cabinet where one can have a wine fridge cooler, led lit shelves for different bottles of different kinds of drinks, drink serving surface, different types of glasses. The cigar humidor can be added as well depending on users wish. It can be very decorative when left opened, or closed totally. The led light turns off when both doors are closed, or on when one of the doors opens. We used solid oak wood in combination with oak veneer oiled with mat protection oil used in food industry to keep a natural look of the cabinet. CHALLENGE: The important part was how to make this cabinet stable since the wooden doors with its shelving system and carriage could be heavy and cause dissbalance when cabinet is operated.
