| DESIGN NAME: Fdo PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multi-shaped Outlet INSPIRATION: The private experiences made me think about the difference in shapes and forms of power sockets and while it`s difficult to replace them all to single one I came up with the idea of creating the only one which could match any type of plug even if is not invented yet by integrating patent pending design technology via use of metal pipes. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: There are almost 14 Different shapes of outlets (sockets) that create troubles in their use, especially traveling abroad. Product especially made for B2B concept prevents such trouble, allowing to use any kind of input device shape to multi-functional patent pending pipe design which forms the shape of it in seconds. Processors that detect the shape give the maximum possible voltage making its also child-safe. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The key point of the product is its simplicity of operations. While forming the design of the socket (plug) it makes easier to put them in. There are no restrictions. It`s possible to rotate and shift it as you wish which makes it easier to use in night-time. Its design is absolutely child-safe as its processor detects the shape of a socket. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2018 in Moscow, Russia and finished in December 2018 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was honoured a the 4-th place participant of Lexus Design Award 2019 in Russia Top Choice FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Home Appliances Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The same dimensions but new technology of thousands metal pipes are used in this product that could hold the different shapes of plugs. The production is made thanks to the CNC machinery which creates exceptional quality matrix for pipes integrations SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 110mm x 110mm x 50mm TAGS: socket, outlet, power, energy, multi, shape, form, future RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The are at least 14 socket designs in the world. All of them are made for different voltage and mental principles of a country they are used for. It always makes difficult to operate for travellers or even for those who is looking to buy electric facilities from other country making them find the connectors. The amount of products is enormous so it`s easier to replace the outlets in the hotels allowing to use their favourite ones. CHALLENGE: The main task was to create a system which is absolutely modular and at the same time quite strong for holding the plug. As there was not existing solution we had to create the completely new system.
