| DESIGN NAME: Nature Fake Illusions PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: With each upcoming decade, Earth faces more danger and destruction, while our socio-cultural environment becomes reshaped at an alarming pace, making us question the future of physical life on the planet and the resourcefulness of humanity. Surrounded by artificial products and experiences, this collection of jewellery is contemplating the paradox of materialization of natural forms by synthetic materials. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Percieveing cold beauty in interiors and objects of everyday use may feel empty. Lacking the warmth and depth of real natural forms and materials. The concept of jewelry collection is expressing these inner feelings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The jewelry is soft and smooth reminding of real flower petals. Its delicate forms looks natural and highlights the beauty of wearer. But the material is artificial. Inspired by nature, the jewellery is uncovering the worlds warning statistics about replacing true nature with fake illusions. The jewellery makes a reference towards the loss of the natural balance in today's demographics and consumerist culture. Arguing that society encourages us to slowly forget the real scent of the plants or taste of the unmodified food, the media ingrains our systems to like the imitations of the reality. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This collection was created in 2015 and since then it was noticed by magazines like AUTOR and iGNANT. It was prezented on various international events. The collection was presented on TRENDBOOK 2020 published by Trendvision forecasting deepen the knowledge of the jewellery industry and shape the forward thinking strategies. TrendBook 2020 monitors historical and social changes, the Emerging Phenomena, analyzing how they will influence the jewelry forecasting trends. |

Pointing that there is a natural beauty out there, different from the enhanced beauty they have been accustomed with, that there is a certain weirdness to perceive in contact with a natural ingredient that has maintained its natural beauty. Aside from being an authentic statement, the jewellery is also a fancy communication channel. CHALLENGE: The hardest part was to create the prototype molds. NAME: Annamaria Mikulik PROFILE: Annamaria Mikulik, the designer focusing on contemporary jewelry. She graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. She also studied at The University of Plymouth, Exeter, UK and National institute of design, CEPT, Ahmedabad, India. She is a member of Slovak Union of Visual Arts as well as Slovak Union of Contemporary Jewelry AURA. The minimalist jewelry created under her brand of NATIF, are emphasising the beauty and the simplicity of minimalist shapes. |
