RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The marketing center severs as a commercial place for selling luxury departments. Those departments are being sold during the construction period, so the customers only can overview their future living place through the design elements in the marketing center. An integration of the coffee area into the marketing center is an innovative idea so as to offer a free luxury place for relaxation to customers. Therefore, this research aims to find what effects will be after the coffee area is integrated into the marketing center. Firstly, we quantitatively counted the number of people stay in the coffee area hourly in three months. Secondly, we interviewed marketing personnels and customers to find their opinions regarding the pros and cons of the coffee area. As a result, the coffee area could motivated the customers stay longer in the marketing center on average. Secondly, customers indeed obtained more home feeling after the coffee area was integrated in. Hereby, the innovative design could promote customers to spend more time to understand the project and offer more visually and mentally attraction to the customers.
CHALLENGE: Coffee area are often built in the shopping mall or the ground floor of commercial buildings, but it rarely shares and builds in the same place with a marketing center which also partially requires the function of offices. Therefore, the main challenge part is how to merge and integrate the design elements between these two in the same place with different functions.
