| DESIGN NAME: Urban Waterfront PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The landscape is built into an opened landscape painting scroll by using urban waterfront as a subject. With the extension of window surface and pattern, interaction between indoor to outdoor are connected by linear, material and color treatment to achieve the fusion of water image with life that establish the ideal relationship among space, people and water by embracing natural art in the riverbank landscape. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The space is located at Zhubei River in Taiwan. During pattern planning, the compartment is removed to extend depth, increase greatly landscape area, so that the landscape seems as the opened landscape painting scroll. Traditional house design is broken to reconstruct the space, arc, concentric circle, and geometric figures are used to symbolize to the water image and embody the essence of Chinese art. A free waterfront life is achieved in people and landscape interaction. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project bases on the subject Urban Waterfront. During pattern planning, the compartment is removed to extend depth, connect the window and increase greatly landscape area so that the landscape seems as the opened landscape painting scroll when the people walk along dynamic line. Linear type dynamic line is broken through to release and open plane, and shorten tedious gallery and remove standard soft decoration display mode, river like and swirly dynamic line is built to insensibly connect housing area and buid high interaction. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: To solve such problems as discontinuous window scenery and insufficient space, the compartment is removed to extend the width and build continuous window scenery so that the people perceive the change in light and landscape. At the same time, the television wall is moved backward to broaden depth and build an open sense of space. Symbolic symbols are used to achieve echoing between the interior and the landscape, and embody the static and dynamic waterfront image. Structure and furniture seem as a rive, the arcs seem as rolling wave, overhung screen seems as waterfall, concentric circles seems as ripples, metal building materials seems glistened like the water to jointly show the fetching night scene of the waterfront. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Interior, Design, House, Residence, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The compartment is removed to extend depth, connect the window so that the landscape is built into an opened landscape painting scroll. At the same time, the water image is symbolized by linear, material and color treatment and introduction of arc, concentric circle, and geometric figures so that the people can embrace natural art in riverbank landscape. For the pattern, river-like and swirly dynamic line is built to provide height interaction and real space, people and water interaction and achieve the easy and free waterfront life. CHALLENGE: Facing the problem of insufficient depth, the television wall is moved toward the kitchen to achieve good extension of width and depth, and the structure column is decorated by facade arc to build a fluent sense of space.
